The Renesas RZ/V2L microprocessor is equipped with Renesas‘ unique AI Dynamically Configurable Processor (DRP-AI), so it can support a variety of image processing purposes, including input/output image color correction and noise reduction. This property allows designers to use inexpensive camera modules without the need for external image signal processors to interpret sensor data, which is key to integrating AI into a variety of cost- and power-constrained Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Driving the RZ/V2L microprocessor is a 1.2 GHz dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 CPU with Arm Mali™-G31 3D graphics engine.

The Renesas RZ/V2L microprocessors are available in 15 mm × 15 mm or 21 mm × 21 mm BGA packages, both of which are pin-compatible with the Renesas RZ/G2L, allowing easy upgrades and Reuse software. The AI capabilities provided by the Renesas RZ/V2L microprocessor can be widely used in a wide range of consumer and industrial IoT products, including surveillance cameras with identification capabilities, home appliances, smart doorbells, smart robotic cleaning equipment, and retail terminals (POS machines) .
