Texas Instruments‘ UCC28740-Q1 is an isolated flyback power supply controller that regulates the output using an optocoupler to provide fast transient response to large load steps.

The internal 700V startup switch can dynamically control the working state and customize the modulation profile, support ultra-low standby power consumption, and will not affect the startup time or output transient response.

The control algorithms in the UCC28740-Q1 allow operating efficiency to meet or exceed applicable standards. The driver output is connected to a MOSFET power switch. Discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) with valley switching reduces switching losses. Modulation of switching frequency and primary current peak amplitude (FM and AM) maintains high conversion efficiency over the entire load and line range.

The controller has a maximum switching frequency of 100kHz and maintains constant control of the peak primary current in the transformer. Protection function Helps suppress primary and secondary stress components. A minimum switching frequency of 170Hz easily achieves less than 10mW of no-load power consumption.
