A few days ago, Texas Instruments (TI) announced the introduction of a four-channel supply voltage supervisor (SVS) product line with programmable delay and watchdog timer, can minimize the board space of current multi-rail power supply design. The TPS386000, TPS386020, TPS386040, and TPS386060 supervisors can monitor 4 power rails above 0.4V with a threshold accuracy error of 0.25%. This high accuracy, combined with an integrated watchdog timer, provides high system reliability for processor-based applications. The TPS386000 family of devices provides independent programmable delay inputs for each monitor channel, with delay times programmable from 1.25ms to 10 seconds for power sequencing.
The operating quiescent current of the TPS386000 device is extremely low, only 12uA, which helps the system minimize power consumption. This family of products has been carefully designed to implement a variety of applications such as telecom infrastructure, networking, server/storage, industrial, and analog sequencing.
The main features and advantages of the TPS386000 series:
1. Highly integrated 4 monitors in a single IC can achieve a threshold accuracy error of 0.25%, creating a highly integrated and highly accurate miniaturized device, which helps to minimize cost and board space;
2. Programmable delay can realize flexible use of various processors, and can also support power sequencing;
3. Low quiescent current (12uA typical) helps minimize design power consumption;
4. The watchdog timer can enhance the reliability of the processor application;
5. Designers can flexibly choose from several options to meet the power requirements of the system:
6. Various reset output options of open-drain, push-pull, active high and active low;
7. The window comparator on the fourth monitor can be used for overvoltage and undervoltage detection, or as the fifth monitor for negative voltage monitoring.
