STMicroelectronics has introduced a new high-bandwidth operational amplifier, the TSV7722, that provides features suitable for high-speed signal conditioning and accurate current measurement in power conversion circuits and optical sensors. The TSV7722 has a gain bandwidth of 22 MHz and a slew rate of 11 V/µs.
A maximum input offset voltage of 200 V and a very low input voltage noise density of 7 nV/√Hz enable accurate low-side current measurements. Additionally, typical input bias currents as low as 2 pA provide accurate photodiode current measurements in optical sensing applications such as smoke detectors.
The TSV7722 improves the energy efficiency of power conversion systems by providing accurate and responsive current measurements. The TSV7722 is unity gain stable, can drive loads up to 47 pF, and can also be used as an ADC input buffer.
Operating from an input voltage range of 1.8 V to 5.5 V, the TSV7722 can be powered from the same power supply as low-voltage CMOS devices such as microcontrollers, or from a deeply discharged battery. In addition, the precision parameters and stability over temperature of the TSV7722 further simplify circuit design, ensuring excellent accuracy without the use of precision resistors or post-assembly adjustments.
